A LEARNER driver who led police on a chase through Swansea, Gorseinon and Loughor at speeds touching 90mph — going through red lights and the wrong way around roundabouts — has avoided jail.
Swansea Crown Court hears that police saw Liam Protheroe "driving at speed" on Swansea Enterprise Zone in the early hours of June 9 and signalled for him to stop — but instead the 20-year-old sped off, leading to an 18-minute pursuit along main roads and residential streets.
