Thieves broke into a car dealership and snatched the alloy wheels from a VW Golf GTi before leaving the vehicle perched on a set of stones.
The nearly-new mark seven, with a price tag of about £30,000, may have been targeted to order, with thieves taking specific parts for use on another vehicle.
