A SINGLE mother who was sent to prison for 81 days because she was unable to pay her council tax bill was unlawfully jailed, the High Court has ruled.
Melanie Woolcock from Porthcawl was jailed at Bridgend Magistrates Court for failing to pay £10 a week towards her debt.
