A POLICEMAN was grabbed by the throat and choked until he almost lost consciousness during a "melee" at a Swansea bar, a court has heard.
The constable was one of a number of officers on duty on Wind Street who dealt with a disturbance involving a stag-do at the PopWorld bar.
Swansea Magistrates Court heard that the PC was grabbed around the neck from behind — and had to bite his assailant on the arm to get him to release his grip.
